We invite you to spend your summer vacation, taking in the delights of the area in a classic country setting near the sea.

We invite you to rent to experience Solar Living and the local amenities, in a fully furnished cottage with state-of-the-art offerings and conveniences.

If you are visiting your family for the holidays, stay in our cottage and have a retreat to spread out in.

Monthly rentals are available for visiting professors or other persons needing a short term home base.

The Green & Solar Cottage is an experience in comfortable, gracious living where everything is provided and at your fingertips. We have a full-size kitchen with a convenient dining area that seats 4 and can be easily expanded. A comfortable Living Room is stocked with books, current magazines, and a flat screen TV. On the second floor we have a full bath with a shower/bath combination, two bedrooms accommodating 4: one bedroom with a queen size bed and one with a twin day bed and trundle that pulls out.

The living room opens onto a mahogany deck that overlooks a picturesque, vernal pond bordered by four birdhouses, all of which are inhabited and add to the wildlife activity.

Kitchen: refrigerator, stove, toaster oven, pots, pans, coffee maker, glasses, china and flatware for 6

Living Room: flat screen tv, vcr and cd player, seating area for 6, plenty of books, magazines, and movies

Bath: towels, soap, hairdryer, shampoo

Bedrooms: bedding & linens

Deck: seating for 4, gas grill

The property 1/2 mile east of Tiverton Four Corners, is directly across the street from the entrance to Weetamoo Woods, a 500+ acre preserve with beautifully groomed walking trails through fields, woods and streams, canine and equine friendly. Toasty Farm, a Fish & Wildlife protected property, is one mile south and offers 300 acres of beautiful open space and a lake for fishing. Fish at nearby Simmons Pond, a fisherman’s paradise with a lake full of different species. Simmons Pond is quite a hotspot on opening day of the spring Season.

We are 10 minutes from Route 24 that can take you to the busy historic seaports of Newport (30 minutes) and Bristol, RI (10 minutes).

Our shore line is a playground for sun worshippers, surfers, sailors, sea shell gatherers and surf casters. The Cottage has access to at least 4 beaches within a 2 mile area. Tiverton and Little Compton both have busy harbors where boats can be moored. The Sakonnet and Westport Rivers are beautiful and offer kayak and canoe rental opportunities.

Exactly 1/2 mile from the cottage and a pleasant walk is the village of Tiverton 4 Corners. Here you will find the Provender, a wonderful coffee shop and deli located in a beautiful turn-of-the-century building and the cornerstone of 4 Corners. There are decorative home shops, wonderful gift shops, a creative clothing shop, a wonderful children’s clothing store and much more. The Four Corners Grill serves breakfast, lunch and dinner both inside and out ( weather permitting). A trip to famous Gray’s Ice Cream is a must. There is an exquisite cheese shop that offers imported cheese and other related yumminess. The Meeting House at Four Corners is a treasure. This fabulous barn structure which sits on a rolling hill with a lazy pond and outdoor sculptures is the setting for concerts, antique shows, cultural fairs, and can also be hired for weddings.

Two vineyards are located close by: Sakonnet Vineyards and Westport Rivers Winery. These are both very active and beautiful places to visit for tours and tasting all year round. And a trip to Buzzards Bay Brewery is also a must.

Little Compton is 3 miles south and the quintessential New England Village with Wilbur’s General Store, the Commons Restaurant, three churches, art gallery /coffee shop and a dynamite Thrift Shop open on Saturdays.
